Bhubaneswar: A free artificial limb and calipers camp would be organized by Biju Mahaveer Jaipur Foot Center here at Unit-6 Kalyan Mandap from February 19 to 27.
A poster on the free camp was released by the Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Department (SSEPD) in its twitter handle today.

In January this month, The SSEPD Department had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), Jaipur for supply of artificial limbs.
Bishupada Sethi, Principal Secretary SSEPD has ensured that the camps will be organised at the earliest so that the needy people can benefit from this move.
As per the MoU, BMVSS will provide services of artificial limbs for 5 years to the Persons with Disabilities (PwDs). BMVSS is the main body of Jaipur Foot which is produced with indigenous technology. It is the world’s largest organisation for rehabilitation of PwDs and has rendered over 2.2 million services.
The BMVSS will collaborate in Public Private Participation (PPP) mode to provide Jaipur Artificial Limbs/Callipers from permanent centers, camps or mobile workshops to PwDs in the state expeditiously.
A good number of PWDs have already been provided with aids and appliances including Orthosis and Prosthesis by Biju Mahaveer Jaipur Food Centre, Khurda, sources said.
