Farmer Registration On Track

Bhubaneswar: The farmer registration process for the Kharif paddy procurement marketing season 2026-27 is progressing rapidly across Odisha, with over 718,000 farmers having registered their names so far.

Shri Sanjay Kumar singh, Principal, Secretary Food, supply and consumer Welfare is regularly monitoring the registration drive saw a significant surge with more than 100,000 farmers enrolling in a single day.

The ongoing registration window will remain open until the 31st of this month. Eligible cultivators are completing their registration through Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies (PACS), Large Area Multipurpose Cooperative Societies (LAMPS), and Pani Panchayats.

Launched on August 6, the campaign has received an enthusiastic response from the farming community. District-wise figures indicate substantial participation, led by Bargarh with approximately 75,000 registrations.

Balasore has recorded 50,000, Kalahandi and Ganjam have each registered 49,000 farmers, and Balangir has seen around 31,000 registrations. The statewide operation is currently active across 2,912 PACS and 4 Pani Panchayats.

The multi-departmental initiative is being conducted through close coordination between the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Department, the Cooperation Department, the Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Department, and the Revenue and Disaster Management Department. Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, is overseeing the entire operation.

Authorities have strongly urged all remaining eligible farmers to complete their registration at the earliest. For grievances, feedback, or assistance regarding the registration procedure, the department has made a dedicated toll-free helpline available at 1967.
