Dr. Deepak Das Beyond Borders

Bhubaneswar: From a small-town student in Odisha to an internationally respected corporate leader, the life of Dr. Deepak Kumar Das is a compelling story of perseverance, lifelong learning, and service.

Born and raised in Odisha, Dr. Das completed his schooling at Harihar High School in 1984 and graduated with Distinction in Commerce from Utkal University, laying a strong foundation for an illustrious career in finance.

Determined to excel, he undertook the rigorous journey to become a Chartered Accountant, training in Rourkela before moving to Delhi in 1994. His professional path soon extended beyond national borders.

In 1997, he moved to Dubai, UAE, and later relocated to West Africa, settling in Accra, Ghana, in 1999. Over three decades, Dr. Das steadily climbed the corporate ladder into chief executive and board-level positions.

Today, he holds a C-level leadership role with a multinational company in Ghana, shaping corporate strategy, governance, and sustainable business growth.

What distinguishes Dr. Das is his relentless commitment to education. Beyond his accounting qualifications in Ghana, he became a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK; the Institute of Public Accountants, Australia; and the Institute of Financial Accountants, UK.

He also completed executive programmes at IMD Business School in Switzerland and Harvard Business School in the USA. Recently, his global contributions were recognized with an honorary Doctor of Philosophy degree from a university in Dallas, Texas.

Despite his international success, Dr. Das remains deeply connected to his Indian roots. He co-founded and serves as President of the Utkala Ghana Association, the apex body representing the Odia diaspora in Ghana. His devotion also led to the establishment of the Shri Jagannatha Temple in Ghana in early 2024.

This sacred space even welcomed the first servitor of Lord Jagannatha, Shri Gajapati Maharaja, alongside the Maharani Sahiba, during their visit to Accra in early 2025. Furthermore, as an ardent follower of Sri Sri Thakur, he serves as a representative of Satsang, integrating integrity and compassion into his leadership philosophy.

From the classrooms of Odisha to international boardrooms, the journey of Dr. Deepak Kumar Das serves as an inspiring narrative for aspiring leaders everywhere, proving that determination, ethical values, and continuous learning can turn any humble beginning into a legacy that uplifts society.
