DGCA License For ASRIA

New Delhi: The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has officially handed over the critical aerodrome license for the Alluri Sitarama Raju Bhogapuram International Airport(ASRIA), marking a monumental leap forward for regional connectivity and economic development in Andhra Pradesh.

The license was presented by DGCA Director General, Shri Vir Vikram Yadav, in the presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister, Shri Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, who graced the occasion. Speaking on the milestone, the Minister highlighted that this certification signifies Uttarandhra’s transformation into ‘Uttamandhra’.

The greenfield airport is slated to anchor a world-class Aerotropolis featuring air cargo hubs, Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities, international convention centres, luxury hotels, business parks, and expansive commercial spaces.

This high-profile clearance for Bhogapuram joins a list of major milestones this year. In March, the DGCA achieved another breakthrough by granting the aerodrome license to the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. These significant approvals underline the accelerated pace at which India’s aviation infrastructure is expanding to meet rising demands.

The swift and systematic issuance of these crucial licenses reflects a broader institutional shift. Under the leadership of DGCA Shri Vir Vikram Yadav, the aviation watchdog has successfully streamlined the license issuing process.

Industry stakeholders have noted that the regulatory body has infused transparency and digital efficiency into its inspection and verification protocols with Shri Yadav at the helm of DGCA.

This proactive approach has significantly cut down bureaucratic delays while maintaining compliance with stringent safety and operational guidelines, allowing major infrastructure projects like Bhogapuram to take off right on schedule.
