New Delhi: Top Mandarin Debashish Panda has been appointed as Chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI).
Mr.Panda, who retired as Secretary, Department of Financial Services, Ministry of Finance will take over IRDAI soon.
The IRDAI Chairman post has been laying vacant since April 2020.
Mr.Panda’s term as Financial Services (DFS) Secretary had ended on January 31 2022.
Mr.Panda, a 1987-batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, was appointed as the DFS Secretary in February 2020.
Department of Personnel & Training has brought out a notification here on Friday.
Mr.Panda, who belongs to Odisha will continue in this top post for a period of three years.
