CUTM On PM Vision Mode

Bhubaneswar: Centurion University of Technology and Management (CUTM) is working towards the realization of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to produce skilled youths with proper education as well.

This observation was made by Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship during his recent visit to the CUTM.

The Prime Minister has said that India, to become a major force in the global arena, needs education as well as skilling of the youths. “If we look in that concept, Centurion University is doing exactly the same and by making education closer to the real- life situations and making the theoretical knowledge relevant with the field-level experience that is what our country needs and that is what our national education policy also guides,” said Shri Tiwari.

The institution has a wonderful teaching facility, very nice campus with very modern equipment and labs etc., he said, adding, “So I assume that the teaching faculty will be as good so that the students are not only getting theoretical knowledge, but they also get practical hands-on experience.”

Centurion University is quite a unique institution as its curriculums are so much related with real life and there is an emphasis not only on theoretical knowledge but also practical hands- on experience which not only make these students more employable but also makes them better citizens, the Union Secretary pointed out.

“Other institutes may be of greater repute in other ways, but the model of Centurion University is markedly different from the other Universities,” he added.

He advised the teachers to teach well, the trainers should train well, and the students should work very hard and whatever the curriculum is being provided should respond to the market demands from time to time.

Few days ago, Vice Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Prof. Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit had also praised the Centurion University while visiting the campus at Jatni.

Shrimati Pandit found CUTM, a totally different Private University, where profit making is not the motto.

“Initially I thought private universities only go for profit, but Centurion University has totally changed my perception because I’ve been told that if you set campuses in rural and backward tribal areas, the government should have done it,” the JNU VC said.

“There are private institutions which are not much committed or perform without any benefits like State or Central Universities. But, the Centurion University is doing the job that the State is expected to do, which greatly impressed me,” she pointed out.

Further, the University is working with people’s needs and necessities with skills that are more important, said the JNU VC.
