Cold Wave Sweeps Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Cold wave conditions prevailed in almost all parts of the State with mercury dipped to as low as 5 degree Celsius in G Udayagiri of Kandhamal district on Monday.

Bhubaneswar Met office said as many as 15 districts in Odisha the minimum temperature plummeted below 15 degrees Celsius.

G. Udayagiri in Kandhamal district became the coldest place at 5 degree Celsius followed by 7 degree Celsius in Semiliguda in Koraput district and 7.6 degree Celsius in Keonjhar.

Dry weather has prevailed over the districts of Odisha while dense fog has occurred at one or two places over the district of Kandhamal of south interior Odisha.

Shallow to moderate fog has occurred at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack and Kalahandi.

State capital Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 13 degrees Celsius, 2.2 degree Celsius lower than normal, while the mercury level touched 13.2 degree Celsius in Cuttack, 1.1 degree Celsius lower than normal.

The Met office said the minimum temperatures observed appreciable fall at a few places over the districts of South interior Odisha, and at one or two places over the districts of North interior Odisha.
