Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi held his first ever review meeting with senior officers here today and took stock of overall works of the State Government.
The Chief Minister along with his Deputy Chief Ministers, KV Singh Deo and Prabhati Parida discussed with Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena and other senior officers about the socio-economic status of the State.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, CS Shri Jena said a presentation was made before the Chief Minister on different aspects of the State including its population, geographical status, economic affairs, ongoing welfare schemes, the projects in the pipeline, investment proposals, steps taken on development of different economic sectors and others.
The issues the State is facing and other aspects were also discussed during the meeting. Similar meetings will be held in the next four to five days, Shri Jena said.
Development Commissioner Anu Garg, Finance Principal Secretary Vishal Dev, Agriculture Principal Secretary Arabind Padhee, Principal Secretary of Fisheries and Animal Resources Department Suresh Kumar Vashisth besides other officers made the presentation on their respective departments at the meeting, he added.
The Chief Minister, two Deputy CMs along with 13 members of the Council of Ministers took oath on June 12. However, the Chief Minister has not yet distributed the portfolios to the Ministers. All meetings and actions are now being driven by the CM and his two deputies.
“The decision has been made and the announcement from the Governor office is likely any time soon,” Cabinet Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan told reporters here today.
