CJ Favors Collective Efforts

Cuttack: Chief Justice Orissa High Court Dr S Muralidhar Wednesday said that the collective efforts of Judges Judicial Officers, members of the Bar, local administration and police play a key role in the success of the justice delivery system.

He said that opening of the Court of Civil Judge-cum-J M F C at Kudumuluguma in the District of Malkangiri is an acknowledgement of the existence of particularly vulnerable tribal groups in the Judicial map of Odisha and also acknowledge them as pan of the diverse population of Indian Citizens and Protect their rights guaranteed under Indian Constitution.

He said that the blend of the prevalent legal system and their traditional Dispute Redressal system would offer the Judge adorning the newly inaugurated Court a different learning experience.

The Judge can also adopt the best practices prevailing in the traditional system to settle the disputes through alternative dispute redressal mechanisms, he said.

Justice Muralidhar expressed hope that establishment of the two Women’s Courts at Bhawanipatna and Keonjhar would ensure protection of dignity of women litigants and provide them speedy and efficient Justice.

Justice S K Panigrahi spoke about the long cherished demand of the local people and local Bar Association having been fulfilled by the inauguration of the Court of Civil Judge-cum-JMFC at Kudumuluguma in the District of Malkangiri.

He said that the inauguration of this Court is another steppingstone to make Justice available at door steps.

Justice Panigrahi said that the Quality of dispensation of Justice is dependent upon joint efforts and mutual cooperation between Bench and Bar.

Among others, officers from the High Court Registry. District & Sessions Judges of these districts and Presiding Officers of the newly inaugurated courts, Bar members of those Courts and other high dignitaries were also present through Video Conferencing

The Chief Justice inaugurated six new Courts- Court of Civil Judge-cum-JMFC at Kudumuluguma in Malkangiri, Court of Senior Civil Judge-cum-Asst. Sessions Judge (Women’s Court) at Bhawanipatna, Court of Senior Civil Judge (LR & LTV) at Kendrapara,  Court of Senior Civil Judge (LR & LTV) at Jajpur, Court of Senior Civil Judge (LR & LTV) at Bolangir and Court of Senior Civil Judge-cum-Asst Sessions Judge (Women’s Court) at Keonjhar.
