Bhubaneswar: The Union Government has extended the tenure of Odisha Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mahapatra by six months from 28 February. Mr.Mahapatra, a 1986-batch IAS officer, was due to retire on 28 February 2022, but his tenure has been extended for another six months on Thursday.
Sources said the State Government has made a request to the Union Government and accordingly Department of Personnel & Training has issued the notification after approval of the Competent Authority.
The DoPT has issued orders and conveyed the same to the State Government on Thursday.
