Chaudhary Outlines FARD Roadmap

Bhubaneswar: Shri Prem Chandra Chaudhary, Secretary of the Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Department, on 17 April chaired a high-level meeting with senior officials to conduct an exhaustive review of the department’s performance during the 2025–26 fiscal year.

The session focused on evaluating the progress of various schemes, identifying critical achievements, and addressing the logistical and operational challenges encountered in service delivery over the past year.

Building on the results of this assessment, a strategic roadmap for the 2026–27 financial year was established. The primary objectives of this plan include enhancing the efficiency of service delivery, expanding the reach of welfare programs to remote areas, and ensuring the sustainable growth of the animal husbandry and fisheries sectors.

These initiatives are designed to provide robust support to the farming community and improve rural livelihoods across the state.

The developmental agenda is receiving strong institutional support from Minister Shri Gokulananda Mallick, while Chief Secretary Shrimati Anu Garg is emphasizing the strategic importance of the Blue Economy.

Her focus remains on leveraging Odisha’s extensive coastline to accelerate marine sector development and increase the state’s contribution to national maritime trade.

Shri Chaudhary, recognized for his rigorous administrative approach, is currently spearheading several innovative programs aimed at meeting specific developmental targets.

These efforts are closely aligned with the Viksit Odisha 2036 vision established by Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi.

This state-level roadmap serves as a critical milestone toward achieving the broader Viksit Bharat 2047 goal, ensuring that Odisha’s fisheries and livestock sectors remain competitive, modernized, and central to the state’s economic transformation.
