Bhubaneswar: Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunja Bihari Dhal today sanctioned ex-gratia for the family members of six polling personnel, who died on duty during the recently conducted Assembly and Lok Sabha polls in the State.
The CEO has sanctioned Rs 15 lakh for the families of each of the deceased. As many as six polling personnel including Alekh Randhari of Nabarangpur district, Prasanna Kumar Pradhan of Deogarh, Gunanidhi Sahu & Kabalram Yadav of Bargarh, Prasanna Kumar Nayak of Nuapada and Santosh Kumar Patra of Gajapati district were died on the ling of election duty.
Conveying his condolences to the bereaved families, Shri Dhal asked concerned District Collectors and District Election Officers for early payment of the compensation amounts to the deceased’s families.
Similarly, the CEO has also sanctioned a compensation amount to Santosh Kumar Rout of Khurda district, who was injured while returning home from election duty. The amount was paid for cashless treatment of Shri Rout, officials said.
