Bhubaneswar: Students of the Political Science Department of Utkal University presented their field-level experiences and ground insights regarding the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The presentation ceremony was held at the conference hall of the Chief Electoral Officer’s office.
State Chief Electoral Officer Shri R.S. Gopalan presided over the meeting-cum-discussion session. During the event, the students shared data-backed details concerning the ground-level challenges, observations, and learnings they encountered while working on the special revision schedule.
Following the presentation, an interactive discussion allowed the student interns to articulate their perspectives on grassroots voter list revisions and administrative execution. Chief Electoral Officer Shri R.S. Gopalan praised the sincerity and active engagement of the participants. He commended the constructive proposals put forward by the students and emphasized that the active participation of youth remains vital in making electoral rolls more transparent, error-free, and accessible.
Several senior officials were present at the meeting, including Additional CEO Sushant Kumar Mishra, Financial Advisor Sanjay Kumar Lugun, Deputy CEO Dr. Laxmiprasad Sahu, Deputy CEO Anamika Singh, Deputy Secretary Dinamani Naik, and Administrative Officer Shashwat Pradhan.
