Call for Data-Driven SBM-G

Hyderabad: A significant 3-day National Training on Impact Evaluation of Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen (SBM-G) successfully concluded at the National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) in Hyderabad recently. The intensive program aimed at strengthening the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) systems crucial for driving tangible results in rural sanitation across the nation.

The valedictory session saw the distinguished presence of Shri Ashok K. K. Meena, Secretary, Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation, who addressed the participants. He emphasized the critical role of robust M&E frameworks in ensuring the long-term success and sustainability of rural sanitation initiatives.

Also addressing the gathering was Shri G. Narendra Kumar, Director General, NIRDPR, who underscored the paramount importance of evidence-based policy formulation in the effective implementation of SBM-G. His remarks highlighted the need for data-driven decisions to enhance the impact of sanitation programs.

The comprehensive training program was meticulously coordinated by Dr. R. Ramesh, Head of the Centre for Rural Infrastructure at NIRDPR. The initiative is expected to equip participants with advanced skills and knowledge to conduct thorough impact evaluations, thereby contributing to more effective and results-oriented rural sanitation efforts under SBM-G.
