BJP Activates Attack On BJD

New Delhi: Following twin by-polls for Dhamnagar and Padampur MLAs seats in Odisha, the BJP has become aggressive against the Naveen Patnaik-led Biju Janata Dal (BJD). The recent activities of the BJP and its leaders indicate that the party has activated its election strategy.

The BJP was able to defeat the BJD storm in Dhamnagar by-poll and protected its entire votes in Padampur. The party has fought both the by-election against the BJD as there was no show by the Congress party. Meanwhile, Union Minister and the face of Odisha BJP, Dharmendra Pradhan has also indicated that Odisha may go for early Assembly polls.

In this background, the BJP has now started strategically attacking the Governing party inside the State and also in Delhi durbar. However, the BJD, which was in aggressive mode during the Padampur by-poll, has almost remained silent in the Parliament.

The BJP Lawmakers have targeted the BJD Government, raising several key issues including implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme in Odisha, establishment of permanent bench of Orissa High Court in Western Odisha, Archana Nag case and Mining issue. It seems that the BJP has made a strategy to denounce the BJD raising several Odisha-related issues during the remaining days of winter session of the Parliament.

According to sources, Mr.Pradhan held a closed door meeting with a senior BJP MP yesterday and chalked out a strategy to attack the BJD Government in the Parliament. Later Team BJP rushed to Parliament.

Usually, the BJD MPs raise Central negligence issues in the Lower and Upper Houses and also meet the Union Minister to put forth their demands. However, this time, on the contrary, the BJP MPs have met the Union Health Minister demanding implementation of Ayushman Bharat scheme in Odisha.

Yesterday, party’s Bargarh MP Suresh Pujari targeted the State Government raising the lady blackmailer Archana Nag case in Lok Sabha. He had demanded a CBI probe into the case.

On Friday, all BJP MPs from Western Odisha accused the State Government responsible for the present situation in Sambalpur. They have written a letter to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik regarding establishment of a permanent bench of Odisha High Court in the Western Odisha.

“The delay and lack of commitment of the State Government of Odisha neither in holding consultation with the Chief Justice of Odisha High Court and  Governor of Odisha nor providing the composite proposals sought by the Union Law Ministry has led to the present unpleasant law and order situation leading to the arrest of dozens of lawyers in Sambalpur and suspension of licenses of 43 odd lawyers for one and half year and suspension of the license of all the lawyers of Sambalpur Bar Association till further order,” the MPs said in their letter to the CM.

Alleging the State Government is responsible for the entire unfortunate incident, the MPs demanded the State Government to address the unprecedented situation without any further delay.

They demanded the State to release the arrested lawyers and take up the matter with the Bar Council of India to revoke the suspension of licenses of the lawyers in the interest of the poor litigants as well as restoration of peace, tranquility and conducive healthy atmosphere in the State.

Meanwhile, BJP MP from Bhubaneswar, Aparajita Sarangi has raised the mining issue and demanded a high-level probe into it.  She alleged that the quality of iron ore being produced in many of the auctioned mines was deliberately downgraded to evade tax.
