Apollo Green To Invest 4.5K CR

Bhubaneswar: Apollo Green Energy Limited has unveiled ambitious plans to invest a substantial Rs 4,500 crore in green energy projects across the State, aiming to establish a total solar power generation capacity of 1,000 MW.

This significant proposal was presented today during a meeting chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, highlighting the company’s commitment to bolstering the State’s renewable energy infrastructure.

During the meeting, Apollo Green Energy officials delivered a detailed Power Point presentation outlining their strategy for setting up solar power projects in various locations throughout the State. The company emphasized its dedication to contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future for the region.

The company is already actively involved in the State’s green energy landscape, with an ongoing project in the Ganjam district. This 54 MWP solar power project, valued at Rs 151 crore, is being developed using the EPC-Ground Solar mode, demonstrating Apollo Green Energy’s on-the-ground experience and capabilities.

Furthermore, Apollo Green Energy expressed its keen interest in undertaking additional green energy projects in other parts of the State, signaling a long-term commitment to the region’s renewable energy goals.

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Singh Deo welcomed the proposed investment, reiterating the State Government’s strong alignment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Clean and Green India. He assured Apollo Green Energy of the State Government’s full cooperation and support in realizing these ambitious green energy targets.

“The State Government is committed to providing all necessary facilities and assistance to facilitate the development of green energy projects and achieve our shared goals for a sustainable future,” stated Shri Singh Deo.

A key component of Apollo Green Energy’s proposed projects includes the integration of a battery energy storage system. This advanced technology will enable the storage of surplus electricity generated, ensuring its availability for use during periods of lower generation, thereby enhancing the reliability and stability of the green energy supply.

This significant investment from Apollo Green Energy is expected to not only boost the State’s renewable energy capacity but also create employment opportunities and contribute to the overall economic development of the region. The focus on solar power aligns with the global push towards cleaner energy sources and marks a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable future for the State.
