Bhubaneswar: Odisha observed the birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar with profound reverence today, honoring the primary architect of the Indian Constitution and a towering visionary of social reform.
The city resonated with tributes to the man whose life was dedicated to the pursuit of equality, justice, and the fundamental rights of every citizen. Speakers at various gatherings emphasized that his noble ideals continue to serve as a guiding light for building an inclusive society.
The morning proceedings commenced at 8:30 AM at the AG Square in Bhubaneswar, where the statue of Dr. Ambedkar was adorned with floral tributes.
Shri Gurbir Singh, Director (Technical) of the Information and Public Relations Department, led the ceremony by offering garlands at the feet of the Great Emancipator.
His presence underscored the state’s formal recognition of Dr. Ambedkar’s intellectual and moral legacy. Shri Singh was joined by other key departmental figures including Deputy Directors Smt. Sucheta Priyadarshini and Shri Ashwini Kumar Bhoi, along with District Information and Public Relations Officer Shri Jitendriya Jena and Assistant Director Shri Deepak Kumar Sahu.
The event witnessed a vibrant gathering of people from all walks of life, reflecting the universal appeal of Babasaheb’s message. Members of various social organizations, political leaders, legislators, and department officials stood alongside students and local residents to pay their respects.
