Bhubaneswar: President Shrimati Droupadi Murmu will arrive here on Thursday on a two-day visit.
After assuming the office of President of India, Shrimati Murmu will start her first visit to home State by visiting Lord Jagannath Temple, Puri.
After arriving here at Biju Patnaik International Airport, she will receive welcome from Governor Ganeshi Lal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other senior officials of the Odisha Government. Then, she will directly fly to Puri, where the President will visit Shree Jagannath Temple.
At around 12 PM, the President is expected to arrive at the helipad and be escorted to Shree Jagannath temple. After having the darshan of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, she will visit Puri Raj Bhawan, where Shrimati Murmu will have Mahaprasad.
The devotees will be prohibited from entering the temple from 10.30 AM till the President returns.
The Puri District Administration and Shree Jagannath Temple Administration have made elaborate arrangements for the maiden visit of the President to Puri.
The administration has raised barricades at all strategic places along the road from helipad to Sri Mandir.
Shree Jagannath Temple Administration Chief Administrator Vir Vikram Yadav and District Magistrate Samarth Verma had discussions with the servitors to perform all rituals on time to facilitate darshan for the President.
Security personnel have organised the safety and security of the President as per their blue book guidelines.
A mock drill of the movement of the security carcade was conducted in Puri and Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
IGP Central Range Narasingh Bhol is looking after the state police security arrangements in Puri while Twin City Police Commissioner Soumendra Priyadarshi is looking after the security arrangements in the capital city.
More than 25 platoons of police force will be deployed for security arrangements of the President in the pilgrim town. About 100 police officers will be deployed at different locations for the visit of the President, said SP Puri Kanwar Vishal Singh.
Temple Administrator (Development) Ajay Jena said the President will first pay floral tribute on the statue of Utkalmani Gopabandhu and then visit the temple, After visiting the main temple, she will also visit Maa Bimala and Shree Mahalaxmi temples, he informed.
The Police department is making the security arrangements as per the Blue Book.
She will return to Bhubaneswar in the afternoon and garland the statues of eminent persons here. She will then attend a civic reception at Raj Bhavan in the evening.
On the second day (November 11), she will visit Tapoban High School at Khandagiri, Unit-2 Government Girls High School and Kuntala Kumari Sabat Tribal Hostel, where she stayed. She is also scheduled to inaugurate an Odia textbook for engineering and a portal (e-Kumbh) at Jaydev Bhawan before flying back to New Delhi on November 11.
About 34 platoons of police force, 200 Police SI & ASI, 62 ACP and 22 ADCP rank officers along with four DCP rank officers will be in-charge of the safety and security of the President, said Bhubaneswar DCP, Prateek Singh.It is noteworthy that, President Shrimati Murmu is the first ever Odia to occupy the seat. She was sworn-in on July 25, 2022 as the President of India.
