Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Friday said that public health is the highest priority for the State Government during the epidemic.
“We are working towards ensuring that no Covid patients is deprived of healthcare,” he said inaugurating medical oxygen storage, other health infrastructure in six districts.
The Chief Minister once again complimented all the doctors, health workers, Asha and Anganwadi workers for their relentless fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The experience we have gained from the first and second waves of the corona will definitely help us in the face of the third wave,” he said.
The work that is being done in the infrastructure sector will further strengthen our fight against Covid, he added.
Mr.Patnaik laid the foundation stone for the distribution and distribution of Liquid Medical Oxygen in nine other districts of the state through video conferencing.
In addition, work has begun on oxygen plants in all 30 districts of the state, he said adding, services can be provided from these plants over the next two months.
The districts covered are Anugul, Boudh, Devgarh, Dhenkanal, Gajapati, Bhawanipatna and Nuapada. Each storage system can store and distribute 4 kiloliters of liquid oxygen.
In addition, the Athmallik Sub-Divisional Hospital has an oxygen pipe jointed ward- Pallahada Sub-Divisional Hospital while the Madhapur and Kishornagar Group Health Centers and Thakurmunda and Bainda Primary Health Centers have piped oxygen supply Ward 6, as well as the new district main hospital at Deogarh Rajmunda.
The function was graced by Health and Family Welfare Minister Nabakishore Das, Deputy Speaker Rajinikanth Singh, Women and Child Development Minister Tukuni Sahu, Energy Minister Dibyashankar Mishra, Dhenkanal MP Mahesh Sahu, Berhampur MP Chandrasekhar Sahu.
Rajendra Dholakia praised the Chief Minister’s vision and efficient leadership for the better performance and health infrastructure of Odisha in the Covid war in the major states.
The event was attended by MPs and legislators from different districts.
Chief Minister’s Secretary 5-T VK Pandian conducted the program which was graced by the Additional Chief Secretary Health & FW PK Mohapatra and Managing Director State Pharmaceutical Corporation Yamini Sarangi.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, Works Secretary Dr Kishan Kumar and other senior officials were present.
