Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Friday instructed Collectors of seven Districts to exhaust 1, 13, 800 doses of Covishield within 5 days.
Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Health and Family Welfare, Pradipta Kumar Mohapatra has issued the instruction to the Collectors and Chief District Medical and Public Health Officers of Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Khurda, Koraput, Nuapada and Sundergarh districts.
The Department of Health & FW has supplied 1,13, 800 doses of Covishield, procured by the State Government, to the seven districts for vaccination of 18 to 44 year age group in nine Municipalities/NACs.
The Ganjam District Administration asked to utilize 6700 doses of Covishield in Hinjlicut Municipality and 6300 doses in Polasara NAC.
Similarly, 17,200 doses of the vaccine have been supplied for vaccination of the 18 plus age group in Paradip Municipality of Jagatsinghpur district while 14,500 doses given for Vyasanagar Muncipality in Jajpur district.
The Government has also given 14,300 doses to Jatni Municipality in Khurda district, 22,400 doses to Jeypore Municipality, 12,700 to Sunabeda Municipality in Koraput, 5,400 to Khariar Road NAC in Nuapada and 14,300 to Rajgangpur Municipality in Sundergarh district.
The Collectors have been directed to plan immediately to start vaccination from Monday in the above Municipality/NAC and exhaust the stock within five days.
Notably, the Centre has announced to provide free vaccines to all States for the inoculation of all eligible people above 18 years from June 21.
