Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi addressed the passing out parade of the 13th batch of cadet sub-inspectors at the Biju Patnaik State Police Academy in Bhubaneswar, urging newly appointed officers to maintain absolute integrity and adhere strictly to zero tolerance against corruption. Presenting awards to top performers, the Chief Minister extended his greetings to 336 cadet sub-inspectors, including 70 women sub-inspectors, who successfully completed two years of rigorous indoor and outdoor training. He highlighted that the significant presence of women in the batch reflects women empowerment and the changing social landscape of Odisha.
In his address, Chief Minister Shri Majhi emphasized that police uniform represents constitutional authority and public service responsibilities. He advised officers to use their statutory powers to deliver justice to the weaker sections of society. Commending the state police for updating its systems to tackle cyber fraud and modern crimes, he noted that joint efforts under central guidance have effectively curbed Naxal activities in the region.
To achieve the vision of a prosperous Odisha over the next decade, the state government is prioritizing law, order, and police modernization. The Chief Minister cited the creation of 17,794 new posts and the filling of 5,817 vacancies over the past two years, alongside enhanced mobility and fuel allowances for police stations. He reiterated the administration’s resolve to make Odisha a drug-free state by 2029 and called for the adoption of SMART policing principles. He offered three core guidelines for the cadets: remaining free from corruption, maintaining high discipline, and ensuring the protection of innocent citizens while strictly enforcing laws against offenders.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Shri Majhi awarded outstanding cadets, presenting the Governor’s Medal, trophy, and cash prize to P. Nalini Rao for overall excellence, along with awards to Tejaswini Mahantaray, Yudhishthira Behera, Laxman Kumar Mahanta, Sasmita Khuntia, Niharika Tripathy, and Ashutosh Nayak for superior performance during training.
Director General of Police Shri Vinaytosh Mishra encouraged officers to serve with courage and dedication, utilizing technology to counter cyber threats. Director of the Academy Shri Anup Kumar Sahu presented the welcome address and annual report in the presence of senior police officials, instructors, and family members of the cadets.
