Singh Push For Infra

Bhubaneswar: Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary of the Department of Works, chaired a high-level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan to evaluate the implementation of Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) projects assisted by NABARD. During the session, officials evaluated the current status of rural infrastructure development across the state. Out of 192 sanctioned RIDF projects, 124 have been successfully completed, while 68 projects—comprising 44 bridges and 24 roads—remain under implementation.

The discussion primarily focused on addressing key bottlenecks hindering project execution, such as land acquisition, forest clearances, and utility shifting. Principal Secretary Shri Sanjay Kumar Singh directed officials to maintain close coordination with line departments and District Administrations to ensure the prompt resolution of these issues.

Reiterating the directives of Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi and Minister of Works Shri Prithiviraj Harichandan, Singh stressed the importance of the speedy implementation of infrastructure works. He emphasized that project timelines must be strictly adhered to while upholding high standards of construction quality through continuous and regular monitoring.

The meeting was attended by several senior officials, including Engineer-in-Chief-cum-Special Secretary Er. Sameer Hota, Financial Advisor-cum-Special Secretary Shri Ratikant Mahapatra, Additional Secretary Shri Pradeep Kumar Sahu, Deputy Secretary Er. Sundar Madhab Padhi, Chief Engineer Bridge-I Er. Pravash Kumar Majhi, Chief Engineer Bridge-II Er. Tapan Kumar Behera, and other concerned Superintending Engineers.
