Bhubaneswar: A two-day State-Level Awareness and Sensitization Workshop on User Experience (UX) Audit and Capacity Building was organised on 12th and 13th May 2026 at the State Convention Centre, Lok Seva Bhawan, Bhubaneswar.
The workshop was graced by Shri Debabrata Nayak, Chief Technology Officer, DIC and Director, National e-Governance Division, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India.
Shri Surendra Kumar Meena, Executive Director, Centre for Modernisation of Government Initiatives, Government of Odisha; and Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, Deputy Director General and State Informatics Officer, National Informatics Centre, Odisha joined program.
The workshop featured four technical sessions on User Experience (UX) Audit and Design Systems conducted by an expert team from the National e-Governance Division. During the event, the dignitaries released a brochure titled “UI/UX in e-Governance.”
In his inaugural address, Surendra Kumar Meena highlighted the emerging challenges and opportunities in digital governance. He emphasized that the workshop would help participants adopt citizen-centric approaches, improve user experience, and strengthen public trust and confidence in e-governance applications for efficient service delivery.
Delivering the welcome address, Ashok Kumar Hota underscored the importance of user experience and design systems in digital platforms. He encouraged all participants to effectively apply the concepts shared during the workshop to enhance the quality and usability of citizen-centric applications.
In his introductory remarks, Debabrata Nayak advised participants to focus on user experience and design systems while developing public-facing applications to improve efficiency, timeliness, ease of use, and simplification of processes.
The workshop was jointly organised by the National e-Governance Division, National Informatics Centre, and the Centre for Modernisation of Government Initiatives, Government of Odisha. Around 200 officials from various departments of the Government of Odisha, CMGI, and NIC Odisha participated in the programme.
