Bhubaneswar: Shri Debasish Mishra has taken over his new role as the Deputy Managing Director and CEO of SBI Funds Management Limited following his promotion from the rank of Chief General Manager at State Bank of India.
He is one of the eight top bank officials elevated to the Deputy Managing Director level on an All-India basis for the current 2026-2027 cycle, marking a notable advancement in his career at the nation’s largest lender.
Shri Mishra is a career banker with over 25 years of experience and transitioned to this leadership position at the subsidiary from his recent post as Chief General Manager, SBI. In that capacity, he managed a network of over 1,700 branches and was instrumental in launching specialized start-up branches at premier institutions such as IIT Madras and IIIT Hyderabad.
Originally from Marthapur, Bhuban, located in the Dhenkanal district of Odisha, his appointment to this executive level is a moment of recognition for his home region. His selection was part of a broader management restructuring at SBI designed to ensure leadership continuity as senior veterans reach retirement.
Shri Mishra succeeds Nand Kishore, who retired from the post in mid-2026. A Certified Financial Planner and Chevening Gurukul Scholar, Shri Mishra possesses specialized knowledge in credit, foreign exchange, and MSME banking.
His leadership at SBI Funds Management is expected to focus on expanding the asset management division and integrating its operations more closely with the strategic goals of the parent bank.
