New Delhi: The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) observed International Women’s Day 2026 in New Delhi under the theme Give to Gain, centered on the leadership of women in the sustainable development journey.
Shri Pradip Kumar Das, Chairman & Managing Director of IREDA, reaffirmed the organization’s dedication to fostering a culture of workplace equity and inclusion.
In his keynote address, CMD Shri Das emphasized that gender diversity is a fundamental pillar for strengthening corporate governance and institutional performance.
CMD IREDA highlighted that women currently make up approximately 23% of IREDA’s workforce, a figure that stands as one of the highest among Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs). This statistic serves as a testament to the inclusive hiring and retention strategies championed under his leadership.
To further advance the cause of empowerment, IREDA Chief Shri Das introduced the 3R framework—Recognise, Respect, and Reflect. He urged male colleagues to adopt these principles to ensure a supportive environment where women can thrive professionally and personally. By encouraging men to actively reflect on their roles in promoting equity, the CMD aimed to shift the organizational culture toward collective responsibility.
The celebration also featured Ms. Anu Sethi, Director (HR) at FEV India, who provided insights on mindfulness and work-life balance, and Dr. Bijay Kumar Mohanty, Director (Finance), who encouraged women to pursue excellence with confidence.
A unique aspect of the event was the inclusion of spouses and mothers of IREDA employees, reflecting a holistic approach to the corporate family. This marked the fourth consecutive year that IREDA has organized such large-scale celebrations, illustrating a sustained commitment to making gender equality a core organizational value rather than a symbolic gesture.
Through open interactions and interactive sessions, Shri Das and his leadership team continue to pave the way for a more equitable future in the renewable energy sector.
