Bhubaneswar: State Cabinet on Monday took several important decisions on management of Covid-19 in State to contain its spread, including floating global tender for procurement of vaccines.
Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra briefed Media. It approved to issue global tender for procurement of Covid vaccine from different major companies in order to expedite the vaccination programme in the State.
To ensure complete and comprehensive vaccination coverage of the people of Odisha, the State Government will take steps to procure coronavirus jabs from major international and national vaccination firms.
It expressed its gratitude to the people of the State for their cooperation in various Covid fighting measures such as testing, tracing, vaccination and lockdown.
The meeting also appreciated the sincerity and dedication of Covid warriors in our fighting against Covid-19.
The Chief Minister emphasized on preparation of special scheme for the protection of children’s health in Covid situation.
In addition, special nodal officers have been deployed with stock of Oxymetre, PPE kits for better health care in the Child Care Centers, he added.
The Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also took ten other important decisions relating to the departments of Water Resources, Industries, Commerce and Transport, General Administration and Public Grievance, and Home.
The other major decisions are Rules to regulate the method of recruitment and service conditions of the persons appointed in the Odisha nursing college education service.
Command area development and water management activities in irrigated commands; Utilization of ground water resources through deep bore wells with solar pump system in remote areas of the State under Buju Krishak Vikash Yojana Deep Borewell Secha Yojana has been approved.
Approval of tender for construction of sports infrastructure facilities in Kalinga Stadium Bhubaneswar and Construction of news international hockey stadium at Rourkela for Hockey World cup; Amendment of Negative list for addition of manufacturing/refilling of medical oxygen/ container.
Amendment of Odisha transport- traffic and enforcement rules, 2013; Change of the nomenclature of ” Forest and Environment department” as ” Forest Environment and Climate Change department”; Amendment of Odisha ex-servicemen (recruitment to State civil services and Posts) Rules; Annual report on activities of Odisha Public Service Commission for the year 2017-18; and, Framing of the Rules for accommodation and other services in Bhawans owned and maintained by the Home department outside the State-2021.
