State Hikes Dearness Allowance

Bhubaneswar: Ahead of auspicious Diwali Festival, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Monday announced a hike of 3 percent in the Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (TI) for the Government employees and pensioners, with retrospective effect from July 1, 2024.

With the fresh hike, the DA of Government employees increased to 53 percent from 50 percent. The employees will get the increased DA in current month salary (October) through direct cash.

The State Government also hiked TI by 3 percent of the pensioners. They will also get the hiked TI in their current month pension.

All regular employees and pensioners, whose number would be 7.5 lakhs in the State, would be benefited from this move. 

All work- charged employees, teaching & non-teaching staff of fully aided non-Government educational institutions, non-teaching staff of universities who are in receipt of regular scale of pay will receive the enhanced DA from July, 2024 onwards.
