The Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) has directed all RTOs (Regional Transport Offices) to keep their respective Registration Sections open on October 24 and 26 to facilitate registration of vehicles during Dussehra Holidays.
Transport Commissioner Sanjeeb Panda has issued orders that the RTOs will also approve the registration of NTV vehicles done through dealer point on all four days (October 23-26) on work from home basis.
“It is hereby ordered that the Registration section of all RTOs shall remain open on October 24 and 26 from 3 pm to 5 pm to receive the registration documents from the dealer and allotment of registration number,” said the STA order.
The STA order has instructed the RTOs to make necessary roster arrangement accordingly and shall intimate the automobile dealers under their jurisdictions regarding such facility.
The order further instructed the RTOs that the dealer point registration and approval can be smoothly disposed off on work from home basis during the Durga Puja holidays (October 23-26).
However, it cautioned that in no case the dealers should deliver any new motor vehicle violating Rule 42 of CMV Rule 1989 without registration and without affixing HSRP number plate.
“All RTOs are instructed to check the dealer premises and ensure that no vehicle is delivered without registration and affixing HSRP,” it said.
“In case the dealer is delivering the vehicles without registration and without affixing HSRP, then steps shall be taken for cancellation or suspension of the trade license of the dealer,” cautioned the STA
