New Delhi: Odisha State Day was celebrated with a show of cultural magnificence at its Pavilion at the 42nd India International Trade Fair (IITF-2023) in New Delhi.

Minister Information and Public Relations Pradip Kumar Amat graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

Lenin Mohanty, Chairman, Odisha Tourism Development Corporation, Resident Commissioner Ravi Kant, Utkal Prasang and Odisha Review Editor, Kasturi Mohapatra, Director Information and Public Relations, Saroj Kumar Samal, Director Tribal Affairs and SCSTRTI Director, Indramani Tripathy, Additional Director I & PR, Santosh Kumar Das and Joint Director I&PR Surjya Ranjan Mohanty graced the occasion as Honorable Guests.

IITF-2023 holds special significance as it features a robust representation of tribal groups, with a notable focus on women actively participating in the production process. Aligned with the Mission Shakti initiative, the pavilion underscores women’s empowerment, highlighting Odisha’s commitment to gender equality and recognizing women as pivotal drivers of economic growth.

The IITF-2023 organized by the India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO) at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from 14-27 November carries the theme “Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam: United by Trade.”

The Odisha Pavilion embraces this theme, embodying the spirit of ‘Unity through Trade.’ It emphasizes trade as a unifying force that bridges diverse cultures and communities, including the representation of tribal groups.

The Odisha Pavilion, featuring 08 Departments, 24 stalls, includes renowned handloom outlets, Mission Shakti products, Millet Mission and other Government departments, offering visitors a detailed look at brick-colored terracotta artifact models that reflect country’s rural culture.

Live demonstrations by artisans will provide insights into the intricate process of transforming raw materials into finished goods. Notably, the pavilion takes pride in presenting handloom, silk products, highlighting an eco-friendly process that obtains silk without harming insects, reflecting Odisha’s dedication to sustainable and ethical practices.

Visitors enjoyed wonderful cultural performances by Odisha’s Troupes during the Odisha State Day celebrations enriching the overall experience of this 14-day-long global trade exhibition.

Delicious foods being served in the Odisha Pavilion, which is a star attraction, said a Delhite.

Earlier on 14 November, Odisha Pavillion was inaugurated by Ashok Kumar Panda, Minister, Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Public Enterprises, and Science & Technology.

Sanjay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary, Information & Public Relations Department and Ravi Kant, Resident Commissioner, Saroj Kumar Samal, Director Information and Public Relations, ORMAS CEO Guha Poonam Tapas Kumar and others graced the occasion.

The IITF-2023 is attracting visitors, featuring participation from States, Countries, Ministries, CPSUs, and several other stakeholders.

Odisha Resident Commissioner Office and Department of Information and Public Relations Officials are working in tandem to make this event successful.
