97.89 PC Students Cleared Matric

Bhubaneswar: The total pass percentage of annual matriculation examination 2021 stood at 97.89 per cent, said School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash here on Friday. The pass percentage in 2020 was 78.86%.

Declaring the examination results at the office of the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Dash said a total of 5,74,125 students have enrolled for the High School Certificate (HSC) exam, of which 5,62,010 students cleared it.

Of the total 5, 62,010 students who passed the HSC examination, 2,80,352 are boys and 2,81, 658 are girls. This year too, the girls have outperformed the boys.

There is no compartment or no MP cases as examination was not held in view of Covid-19 pandemic. This year, a total of 5945 schools have scored 100 per cent results while not a single school in the State recorded ‘zero’ results this year.

Officials said that as many as 2656 students have secured A1 grade while 22,131 students secured A2 grade. Similarly, the number of students securing B1 and B2 grades stood at 52,299 and 94,475, respectively. Though no exam was held, 7703 students have failed in the exam as per the prescribed norms for awarding marks.

Dash said that students dissatisfied with this result can appear in the physical examination which will be held after Covid situation eases out. The date for the examination will be decided by the BSE.

The Ex-regular students’ pass percentage stood at 88.33 per cent this year. Out of 53,279 ex-regular students, 47,060 have cleared the examination, of which 27,094 are boys and 19,966 are girls.  

The students, who will appear in improvement examination, will not face any issue in admission into Class XI courses, as proper arrangements will be made open for them for the admission till their results out, the Minister clarified.

Besides, the results of Open School Certificate and Madhyama Examination were also declared today. The pass percentage of Madhyama is 98.07 percent while 4752 out of 12,285 students appeared in the Open School Certificate Examination passed.

The students can check their scores at www.bseodisha.ac.in and www.bseodisha.nic.in from 6.00 PM onwards, informed the board.
