Bhubaneswar: Some major health facilities of the state have been shortlisted for first phase of transformation in 2023.
Informing all district collectors regarding this decision of the state government, Health Secretary Shalini Pandit said all District Headquarter Hospitals, Rourkela Govt. Hospital and Capital Hospital, Bhubaneswar will be covered under 5T transformation.
Each Assembly Constituency will have one health facility identified for 5T transformation, she said.
In the Assembly Constituencies where DHHs, Rourkela Govt. Hospital or Capital Hospital are not located, First Referral Units (FRUs) located in the Assembly Constituency will be given priority for transformation, she informed the collectors.
However, where the civil structure of the FRU requires major repair and is not in a fit condition to undertake transformation in 2023, an alternate health facility in (SDH or CHC) may be selected for that Assembly Constituency, she said.
Where no FRU is available in the Assembly Constituency, preference will be given to the highest caseload health facility in the Assembly Constituency (SDH / CHC) for the 5T transformation, she said.
Buildings that require very high expenditure on civil works and health facilities that do not have robust patient footfall should not be undertaken for the 5T transformation in the first phase, she told the Collectors asking them to submit their final list of selected health facilities (one per Assembly Constituency) within the next 5 days to the Mission Director, National Health Mission.
