Bhubaneswar: The last Cabinet meeting of the present BJD Government was held just few hours before the announcement of schedule for the upcoming Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections.
The Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has approved a total of 14 proposals including Rs 1845.76 crore Odisha Transmission System Strengthening Programme (OTSSP) for development power infrastructure
In order to ensure steady and reliable power supply to upcoming industries such as Paradeep Plastic Park, Angul Aluminium Park, Bhadrak Textile Park, Neulapoi Industrial Estate etc. and to augment the existing infrastructure in line with present demand, OPTCL has come up with a proposal to take up 6 Grid Sub-stations, up-gradation of existing GSS and transmission lines, implementation of SAS (Substation Automation System) etc. which are financially remunerative under phase-Il of OTSSP, Chief Secretary P K Jena said. ACS Revenue, Forest & Environment, Satyabrata Sahu was present.
The estimated cost of the phase is Rs 1845.76 crore to be met with 30% (Rs. 553.73 crore) equity from the State Government and the balance 70% (Rs. 1292.03 crore) will be arranged by OPTCL, he said.
The projects will be implemented under Chief Minister’s Power Development Programme (CMPDP) within a period of 5 years from FY 2023-24 to 2027-28.
Therefore, the Cabinet, today approved the proposal of taking up 21 new and up-gradation transmission projects by OPTCL within a period of S years under phase-II of Odisha Transmission System Strengthening Programme with 30% equity support from the State Government which will be a part of CMPDP.
The Cabinet has decided for Construction of a bridge over river Mahanadi at Brahmankanda- Sahukheta road under Salepur Block in the Cuttack district with a cost of Rs 128.71 crore.
This project will provide interlink connection between Cuttack – Paradeep Road (SH-12) to Cuttack – Chandbali Road (SH-09). The work is targeted for completion within a period of 36 months, Jena said.
The scheme titled as “Command Area Development and Water Management (CADWM) Activities in Irrigated Commands (version 2.0)” also got the nod from the Cabinet.
The scheme will be executed with an estimated cost of Rs 763.47 crore during a period of 5 years from FY-2024-25 to 2028-29.
Re-Construction of Old Field Channel Works in Irrigated Commands (version 2.0)” with an outlay of Rs 574.74 crore was also approved in the Cabinet meeting. The scheme will be executed in a period of 5 years from the FY 2024-25 to 2028-29, the Chief Secretary informed.
In order to promote sports activities in the State, the Cabinet has approved the proposal of Revenue Department for sanction of renewal of lease of Khasmahal land measuring Ac.20.808 dec. in Cantonment area in Cuttack city for a period of 40 years from 04.09.1989 in favour of Odisha Olympic Association.
The State panel further approved the proposal of Revenue Department for sanction of lease of Ac.2.50 dec. of government land at Chauliaganja in Cuttack in favour of DAV SCB Medical Public School, Cuttack free of premium.
In order to meet domestic use of urea for increasing agricultural production and other ancillary industrial activities with economic growth and revival sick units with employment opportunity of the state, stamp duty and registration fees amounting to Rs 31.32 crore on the sub-lease deed land measuring Ac. 856.360 dec to be executed in favour of Talcher Fertilizer Ltd is remitted, Shri Jena informed.
