New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today reiterated the NDA Government’s “unwavering commitment” to ‘Garib Kalyan’ (welfare of the poor) as the nation observes 11 years of what he described as “transformative and inclusive governance.”
The Prime Minister highlighted the pivotal role played by a “compassionate government” focused on empowerment, infrastructure, and inclusion, in uplifting over 25 crore people from poverty.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Prime Minister emphasized the significant impact of key government schemes that have “transformed the lives of the poor.” He specifically cited initiatives such as PM Awas Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, and Ayushman Bharat, which he stated have expanded access to essential services like housing, clean cooking fuel, banking, and healthcare.
Prime Minister Shri Modi also underscored the crucial role of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), digital inclusion, and robust rural infrastructure in ensuring the transparent and efficient delivery of benefits “till the last mile.”
“Over the past decade, the NDA Government has taken pathbreaking steps to uplift several people from the clutches of poverty, focussing on empowerment, infrastructure and inclusion,” the Prime Minister wrote on X.
