108 Cr For Anandapur Barrage

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has approved a tender worth ₹108,00,00,000.01 (Rupees one hundred eight crore and one paisa) for a key phase of the Integrated Anandapur Barrage Project. This was announced by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja after today’s Cabinet meeting.

The Integrated Anandapur Barrage Project aims to provide irrigation to 60,000 hectares in the Keonjhar and Balasore districts. The newly approved work is a part of this larger project.

This phase will specifically focus on creating irrigation potential for 3,450 hectares of Culturable Command Area (CCA) in Keonjhar district. The project includes Command Area Development (CAD) and will utilize Under Ground Pipe Line (UGPL) systems. The breakdown of the command area is as follows:

  • 2221 Ha of CCA under Baitarani Left Bank Canal (BLBC) from RD 0.00 km to 28.50 km.
  • 1229 Ha of CCA under Baitarani Right Bank Canal (BRBC) from RD 0.00 km to 9.00 km.

The project is scheduled to be completed in eighteen (18) calendar months.

Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly benefit farmers in the Anandapur, Hatadihi, and Ghasipura blocks of Keonjhar district, and improve their socio-economic conditions.
