Bhubaneswar: The State Government has received 180 investment intents worth Rs 1.70 lakh crore in various sectors on second day on Friday, Industries Principal Secretary Hemant Sharma said.
Speaking to media persons here this evening, Mr. Sharma said the State has received 180 investment intends worth Rs 1,70,260.85 crore, which would provide employment for 3,78,446 persons.
Out of the 180 intents received on the second day, 46 intents are in mineral, metal, ancillary and downstream sector (Rs 78000 crore), 43 are in agriculture and food processing (Rs 3500 crore), 24 in information technology (Rs 6000 crore), 22 in power and renewable energy (Rs 51,000cr), 17 in chemical, plastic (Rs 29000 crore), 9 in textile, apparel and garment (Rs 2100 crore), 5 in agri marketing & 14 in agri businesses (Rs 650 crore), he said.
Five non-investment MoUs were also signed by the Skill Development department today.
On the first day, the State Government had got investment intents of Rs 7.26 lakh crore in various sectors. So, in total, the state has received 325 investment proposals worth Rs 8.90 lakh crore, informed the Principal Secretary.
During the first two days, four ground-breaking ceremonies were held and four plants were inaugurated which attracted an overall investment commitment of Rs 4423.51 crore and created employment for 14,270 persons.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated the Ultratech Cement plant in Cuttack yesterday which clocked an investment of Rs 737 crore with production capacity of 2.2 million and employment generation potential worth 928.
Two plants were inaugurated in Ramdaspur, Cuttack – Jai Bharat Spices, a ready-to-eat-food and cold storage plant at an investment of Rs 50,000 crore and Astral Pipes at an investment of Rs 109.81 crore with employment potential of 250 and production capacity of 35000 tonnes per annum for plastic pipes and fittings.
Britannia also expanded its current production capacity at Khurda Food Park which is into manufacturing cakes, biscuits at an investment of Rs 93 crore and employment potential of 350.
Ground-breaking ceremonies were conducted for Cotton World, Danieli Corus Refractory Solutions Pvt Ltd, Jindal Stainless Steel Park Kalinganagar and Vedanta Aluminium Park.
