Yoga Day 2025: PM Modi to Lead

Vizag: The 11th International Day of Yoga (IDY) on June 21st, 2025, is poised for an unprecedented celebration, with Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi spearheading the national event from Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh.

He will lead the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) alongside over 3 lakh participants at the main venue, a powerful demonstration of India’s commitment to global wellness.

The Prime Minister will be joined by Shri Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister Ayush and Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare, and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu.

This mass demonstration, held from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM, will see the Prime Minister perform the CYP with participants in Visakhapatnam, synchronized with over 10 lakh locations nationwide under the “Yoga Sangam” initiative. This promises unprecedented participation from every corner of the country.

The state of Andhra Pradesh is preparing for a monumental turnout, with over 2 crore people expected to participate in Yoga sessions at more than 1 lakh locations.

In a significant effort to mark the occasion, the Government of Andhra Pradesh is also coordinating a Guinness World Record attempt. Furthermore, the AP Government plans to award over 50 lakh yoga certificates to registered participants, solidifying this decadal edition of IDY as a truly historic milestone in India’s ongoing health and wellness journey.
