To make Odisha a developed State by 2036 when it will complete 100 years formation, the State Government has asked all Departments to make preparation of Vision Document for Viksit Odisha@2036 for Viksit Bharat @2047 a part of all internal meetings and external engagements.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has unveiled the logo. Deputy Chief Minister, Pravati Parida, Planning & Convergence Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, ACS To CM Nikunja Bihari Dhal and others were present.
Earlier, Development Commissioner Anu Garg has issued a circular to all Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries in this regard.
The visioning exercise for ‘Viksit Odisha@2036 for Viksit Bharat@2047 ‘ is underway and will be completed within the stipulated timeline, she said.
First round of meetings of six different sectoral groups has already been held under the chairpersonship of the concerned Additional Chief secretaries/ Principal Secretaries on thematic areas like economy, industries, infrastructure, social and human development, cultured heritage, technology and innovation, good governance and rural transformation, Smt.Garg said.
“It is a unique opportunity to work in a collaborative manner with a whole of Government approach for preparation of the Vision document. The document needs to be more aspirational for a developed Odisha by 2036 and for a developed India by 2047,” the DC said.
In this context, she informed that the State Government is going to launch a web portal soon to obtain inputs from the citizens, civil society organizations, policymakers, academia, public intellectuals, think tanks, business and industry leaders etc.
Therefore, Garg requested all the heads of the Departments to put Viksit Odiaha@2036 for Viksit Bharat@2047′ as one of the agenda items for discussion in all the internal meetings of the Departments with Heads of the Departments, District and Sub-District Level Officers, PSUs, Autonomous bodies under the administrative control of the Departments and external engagements with the civil society organisations and representative bodies of industries, trade and commerce.
Odisha targets a 500 billion dollar economy by 2036 and to reach a 1.5 trillion dollar economy by 2047. To capitalize on its distinctive strengths and address its evolving challenges, a visioning exercise for “Viksit Odisha@2036 for Viksit Bharat@2047” is being undertaken.
The vision of Viksit Bharat aims to transform India into a developed nation by 2047, marked by sustainable growth, technological innovation, and social inclusivity.
To carry forward this task, a State Level Steering Committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja along with Development Commissioner Anu Garg, ACS, Forest, Environment & Climate Change, ACS, Steel and Mines Department, Secretary, Tourism Department, Principal Secretaries of Industries Department, Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment Department and Finance, Commissioners and Secretaries of the Department of Health and Family Welfare and the Department of School and Mass Education as members.
The Special Secretary of Planning and Convergence Department is the Member Convener of the committee.
The Steering Committee will provide direction and guidance to prepare a Vision Document for the State on the 100th year of its formation in 2036 and for 2047 (100 years of India’s independence), devise its own working procedure and may meet at periodic intervals. The committee may invite eminent citizens, former Chief Secretaries, Odia Diaspora and such other officers and experts to attend the meetings as deemed fit.
