Bhubaneswar: Chief Secretary, Shrimati Anu Garg, chaired All Secretaries Meet at the Kharavel Bhavan to discuss the implementation of the state’s vision for 2036 and 2047.
The meeting was attended by Development Commissioner Shri Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, ACS Home, Industry and I&PR, Shri Hemant Sharma, ACS Revenue & Disaster Management, Dr.Arabinda Kumar Padhee along with other Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries, and Commissioner-cum-Secretaries from various departments.
During the session, she reviewed a two-year action plan and advised departments to simplify Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to ensure steady progress toward these long-term goals. The meeting emphasized that achieving the targets set in the vision document is a top priority under the Honorable Chief Minister’s 15-point agenda.
A significant portion of the discussion focused on the state’s recruitment goals. The government aims to provide 65,000 jobs by June 2026, with 39,500 appointments already made through various departments and recruitment fairs since the formation of the new government.
To further this objective, the Chief Secretary reviewed steps to fill vacancies over the next three months, noting that proposals for 34,641 additional recruitments have been sent to the Odisha Public Service Commission, the Odisha Staff Selection Commission, and the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission.
Principal Secretary Finance, Shri Sanjeeb Mishra also addressed challenges and solutions related to the recruitment process.
Additionally, the Chief Secretary issued several directives regarding administrative efficiency and fiscal management:
Departments must prioritize the “36 for 36” initiative, focusing on balanced and timely development across all districts with special attention to major projects.
All departments are required to complete budget expenditures for the 2025-26 fiscal year by March and meet their respective revenue collection targets.
Secretaries were advised to closely monitor and act upon proposals and project suggestions submitted by Members of Parliament and Members of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
Regular data updates must be sent to the General Administration and Public Grievance Department to ensure the recruitment process remains accelerated into the coming year.
