Bhubaneswar: The BJP Government today has given additional charge of Resident Commissioner, New Delhi to senior IAS Officer Vishal Gagan, who is at present serving as Special Secretary, Industries Department (OIEPO), New Delhi.
The State Home Department has brought a notification in this regard today.
“Vishal Gagan, IAS (RR-1998) at present Special Secretary to Government, Industries Department (OIEPO), New Delhi is allowed to remain in additional charge of Resident Commissioner, New Delhi until further order,” read the Notification.
Ravi Kant, a IPS Officer of 1998 batch, has been removed from the post of Resident Commissioner, New Delhi and posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Home Department with immediate effect.
Meanwhile, the State Government has also revoked the suspension of senior IPS Officer D S Kutey and posted him as OSD, Home Department.
Following a complaint lodged by Odisha BJP ahead of general elections in the State, the Election Commission of India (ECI) had suspended Shri Kutey who was serving as special secretary to CM, for “unduly interfering in conduct of elections”.
Later, the ECI had recommended the State Government to revoke the suspension of the IPS Officer with pending disciplinary proceedings.
In accordance with the recommendation of the ECI, the State Government today revoked the suspension and appointed him as OSD Home Department, officials said.
