Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has appointed 2011 Batch IAS Samarth Verma as Director Minor Minerals.
While the Chief Secretary, Manoj Kumar Ahuja has directed all District Collectors and SPs to intensify enforcement drives and conduct raids to curb illegal mining and transportation of minerals., today Government of Odisha has posted an able mandarin in charge of Directorate of Minor Minerals.
There is an overdrive to identify areas where illegal mining is going on or has taken place, so that these mineral sources, wherever possible can be re-auctioned for use following the procedures and rules.
Now Shri Verma, known as a No Nonsense IAS Officer will carry out the enforcement operations across the State, said a senior official in the Department of Steel & Mines.
Shri Verma is also serving Director Technical Education and Training as well as Managing Director Odisha Film Development Corporation (OFDC).
Director Minor Minerals, K Sudarshan Chkravarthy, another 2011 Batch IAS has been posted as Managing Director Odisha State Civil Supplies Corporation (OSCSC).
2013 Batch IAS Officer, Shubham Saxena, who was efficiently handling OSCSC as Managing Director has been assigned the crucial assignment of Director Agriculture and Food Production.
Earlier Shri Saxena has also served as Additional Secretary of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment for more than two and half years.
