Vedanta Unveils Rath Yatra Sand Art

Bhubaneswar: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, has unveiled a magnificent sand sculpture of Lord Shree Jagannath at Puri International Beach, marking the beginning of its Rath Yatra 2025 celebrations. The stunning artwork, created by internationally acclaimed sand artist Shri Manas Kumar Sahoo, has quickly become a major attraction for pilgrims and tourists.

The majestic sculpture, measuring 15 feet long and 6 feet high, was meticulously crafted over two days using 10 tonnes of sand. Adorned with vibrant colors and a delicate garland of flowers, it beautifully depicts Lord Jagannath bestowing blessings upon devotees. Padma Shri Pravakar Maharana, a renowned sculptor and heritage conservationist from Konark, lauded the masterpiece, further highlighting its cultural significance.

“Rath Yatra is not just a festival; it is a celebration of faith, community, and the timeless bond between Lord Jagannath and his devotees,” said Rajiv Kumar, CEO, Vedanta Aluminium. “At Vedanta, we are honored to support and celebrate this sacred tradition through sand art, which is deeply rooted in Odisha’s culture.”

Vedanta Aluminium annually supports the Rath Yatra celebrations, reaffirming its commitment to preserving Odisha’s spiritual and artistic identity. This year, the company is organizing several key initiatives during Rath Yatra and Bahuda Yatra. These include the distribution of hot meals through Arnna Chatra-Bhandara, drinking water, and breakfast for devotees. A soulful Bhajan Sandhya will also be hosted, accompanied by the serving of Mahaprasad and Nirmalya Prasad.
