Lanjigarh: Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, today announced the successful conclusion of a mega multi-specialty health camp in Odisha’s remote Kalahandi district. Organized under its flagship healthcare initiative, Project Aarogya, the camp provided critical medical services to over 350 patients across 15 villages in the Gobardhanpur Gram Panchayat, reaching deep into underserved regions during the peak monsoon season.
The initiative comes at a crucial time when communities are particularly vulnerable to seasonal diseases, addressing the pressing need for timely and accessible healthcare in remote areas. The camp featured a team of specialists in pediatrics, general medicine, gynecology, and other allied medical fields, offering immediate medical attention and vital awareness on preventive healthcare practices, effectively bridging healthcare access gaps in these rural communities.

Project Aarogya, Vedanta Lanjigarh’s cornerstone healthcare program, has consistently demonstrated significant impact in the region. In the current fiscal year alone (FY2024-25), the program has conducted over 660 Mobile Health Unit (MHU) visits, extending doorstep healthcare services to more than 20,500 individuals in remote villages. Furthermore, the initiative has organized over 680 community awareness sessions, educating more than 15,000 people on essential hygiene practices, wellness, and disease prevention.
