Urge For More Credit

Bhubaneswar: Principal Secretary Finance, Vishal Kumar Dev has urged the Bankers to extend adequate credit facilities for developmental and pro-people programs in order to improve growth rate of economy.

Principal Secretary Finance Shri Dev said that bankers are needed to play a positive role to accelerate the economic growth rate of the state in various sectors.

Speaking at the 173rd State Level Bankers’ Committee Meeting held at Lok Seva Bhawan here on 12 December, Shri Dev advised bankers to take care in priority sector lending, bankable schemes and district-wise lending rate.

Shri Dev expressed satisfaction that the Credit Deposit (CD) Ratio of the State has been increased to 81.75 Percent as on 30 September, 2023.

CD Ratio of the State was 81.44 Percent as on 30 June, 2023 and it is seen rising, which is a positive trend, officials admit.

Shri Dev congratulated the bankers for their achievements and advised them to play a positive role in public welfare schemes.

He urged banks to insist on opening more branches and more ATMs across the State.

Gautam Patra, General Manager, UCO Bank and Convener of the State Level Bankers’ Committee Meeting delivered the welcome address.

Executive Director UCO Bank and Chairman of State Level Bankers’ Committee Vijay Kumar N. Kamble, Regional Director, Reserve Bank of India, Sharda Prasanna Mohanty, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India, Chandrashekhar Sharma, Chief General Manager, NABARD,  Sudhanshu K.K. Mishra graced the occasion.

Principal Secretary Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment, Arabinda  Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretary Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Saswat Mishra, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Principal Secretary S K Vashistha, Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department S K Lohani, Secretary, Mission Shakti,  Sujata Rout Karthikeyan, along with other senior officials of the State Government and office bearers of various Banks and Lead Banks were also present and expressed their views on various issues.
