Bhubaneswar: The Housing & Urban Development (H&UD) Department of Odisha has been awarded the second prize for its innovative tableau on Urban Mobility and Last Mile Connectivity at the state-level Independence Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar.
The award was presented by the Chief Minister of Odisha, Sri Mohan Charan Majhi. Accepting the prize on behalf of the department were Smt. Usha Padhee, Principal Secretary of the H&UD Department, and Dr. N. Thirumala Naik, Managing Director of Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT).
The tableau’s theme highlighted the department’s vision for creating sustainable, inclusive, and efficient urban transportation systems. It showcased the seamless integration of modern public transit with green mobility initiatives, aiming to improve last-mile connectivity for the state’s citizens.
This recognition celebrates the department’s commitment to enhancing public transport and urban living. The first prize for the tableau display went to the Handlooms, Textiles & Handicrafts Department, while the Commerce & Transport Department secured the third prize.
