Upadhyay Is New JD CBI

Bhubaneswar: 1999 Batch IPS Ghanshyam Upadhyay is new Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Mr.Upadhyay is from Odisha Cadre and he is among the three Top Cops, who have been appointed as JD CBI.

Other two are 1995 batch IPS Nawal Bajaj and 1998 Batch IPS Vidya Jayant Kulkarni.

While Mr.Bajaj is of Maharashtra Cadre, Ms.Kulkarni is from Tamil Nadu cadre of IPS.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the induction of three IPS Officers as Joint Director of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

These senior IPS Officers are appointed as JD CBI for five long years.

In the meantime, in Odisha, effecting major changes in the higher echelon of State Police, the Odisha Government today transferred five senior IPS officers.

According to a Home Department notification, Binyanand Jha, ADGP, OHRC, has been posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in Home Department. 1989 batch IPS Pranabindu Acharya has been posted as ADGP, OHRC.

1990 batch IPS Sudhanshu Sarangi, OSD – Home Department, has been posted as Additional Director General of Police, Railway & Coastal Security.

Shefeen Ahmed K, presently serving as IGP, Technical has been posted as IGP, Fire Services & Home Guards.

2013 batch IPS L Divya V, SP, CID-CB, has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Dhenkanal.

Meanwhile, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the name of 1999 batch Odisha cadre IPS Ghanshyam Upadhyay for induction as Joint Director in CBI.
