Bhubaneswar: Santosh kumar Upadhayay, Chairman, Odisha Police Recruitment Board has inaugurated the ceremony organized to celebrate the 42nd foundation day of Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha here on 6 September.
Shri Upadhayay, Chairman, Police recruitment Board and Former DGP Fire Services, while inaugurating the ceremony as Chief Guest wished for the development of the Council and encouraged more and more people to enroll in Government schools.
Shri Upadhyay also stressed the promotion of creative activities such as environmental protection, sports, music and exercise, with emphasis on moral education.
Subhashree Nanda, Additional Secretary, School and Mass Education Department and Srikant Kumar Tarai, President, Board of Secondary Education (BSE) graced the ceremony as Honourable Guests.
Discussing about the National Educational Policy -2020, Shrimati Nanda Said that children could choose subjects according to their interest and will get opportunity to express their talent in new ways.
Shri Tarai, President, BSE informed that provision has already been made to choose vocational education as the third language form the school level. He emphasized on development vocational education and curriculum.
On this occasion Ashwini Kumar Mishra, Chairman of the Council presented relevant information and role of CHSE in his welcome speech. He informed about the successful conduct of examinations by the Council, the change in the curriculum, the social activities of the NSS Wing, Subhrabala Behera, Secretary of the Council has presented the annual report.
In commemoration of this event, a special souvenir “Prajna” was unveiled. In addition, the winners of the Chairman’s cup debate competition and winners in the national sports competition, SGFI were felicitated with trophy and monetary rewards.
Prashant Kumar Parida, Controller of Examinations delivered vote of thanks. The meeting was attended by the officers and staff of the Council and the Council members and students who were successful in various competitions also.
