ULBs Alerted Of Heavy Rains

Bhubaneswar: With forecasts predicting heavy rainfall across many parts of the state, the Housing and Urban Development Department has issued a high alert to all Urban Local Bodies (ULBs), urging them to remain vigilant and implement all necessary precautionary measures.

Principal Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, Usha Padhee, emphasized the critical need for immediate action and citizen safety. In a recent directive, Smt.Padhee instructed ULBs to ensure water pumps are on standby for rapid deployment in potentially waterlogged areas. The Department reiterated its commitment to collaborate closely with ULBs to ensure effective management of urban areas during adverse weather conditions. Critical areas of work highlighted include robust coordination with line departments, ensuring the availability of emergency manpower, and the thorough preparation of essential equipment.
