Bhubaneswar: Dr. Prabodh Mohanty, President of the Utkal Chamber of Commerce and Industry Limited (UCCIL), took center stage on February 2nd as he spearheaded a pivotal vendor meet aimed at transforming the industrial landscape of Odisha.

Under his leadership, the UCCIL Conference Hall hosted a high-level workshop, designed to facilitate a direct dialogue between local business leaders and the procurement hierarchy of Tata Steel.

UCCIL Chief Dr. Mohanty’s initiative emphasized the importance of synergy between established corporate giants and the burgeoning entrepreneurial talent within the state.

The event featured Shri Ranjan Sinha, Chief Procurement Officer of Tata Steel, who was joined by senior Chiefs representing critical strategic hubs such as Kalinga Nagar and Meramundali. The visiting officials provided detailed presentations on the mechanics of doing business with Tata Steel, offering a roadmap for local firms to align their services with international industrial standards.

A major theme of the discussion was the strategic prioritization of Odisha-based vendor development. The Tata Steel leadership reaffirmed that Odisha is the company’s primary focal point for growth and investment. They assured attendees that the company would proactively work to identify, develop, and connect with local entrepreneurs, ensuring they are integrated into the broader supply chain in the near future.

The workshop concluded as a successful bridge-building exercise, with UCCIL Chief Dr. Mohanty and the Tata Steel team expressing a shared vision for an inclusive industrial ecosystem that empowers regional businesses.
