UCCIL Celebrates Independence Day

Bhubaneswar: The spirit of patriotism and hope filled the air today as UCCIL celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day. The campus was abuzz with a sense of quiet reverence, a stark reminder of the sacrifices that paved the way for this day.

The ceremony, steeped in emotion, saw UCCIL’s President, Dr. Prabodh Mohanty, unfurl the National Flag. As the tricolor billowed against the morning sky, a wave of palpable emotion swept through the gathering.

Dr. Mohanty’s voice, tinged with a deep sense of gratitude, resonated as he spoke of the profound contributions of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation. He reminded everyone that our freedom wasn’t a gift, but the hard-won result of immense courage, sacrifice, and non-violent resistance.

Dr. Mohanty’s words transported the audience back to the era of the freedom struggle, evoking the struggles and triumphs of our forebears. He underscored that true freedom lies not just in political independence, but in our collective commitment to uphold the values of justice, equality, and compassion that our freedom fighters envisioned.

The emotional high point came when Dr. Mohanty along with Madam Smt.Mohanty distributed sweets to the children present. Their joyful faces, filled with innocence and wonder, served as a powerful symbol of the future.

It was a poignant moment, a visual representation of the hope that the older generation passes on to the next.

The event was attended by UCCIL Secretary, Dr. Sanjeev Mahapatra, and other office bearers, all of whom joined the celebrations with a shared sense of pride and solemnity.

The ceremony wasn’t just a tradition; it was a deeply felt reminder of our shared history and a renewed pledge to build a better tomorrow for the generations to come. It was a day to remember, reflect, and rejoice in the spirit of a nation that continues to march forward with hope and resilience. Jai Bharat!
