Deogarh: Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) Chairman and Principal Advisor to Chief Minister, Asit Tripathy on Tuesday visited Deogarh district and reviewed various developmental activities undertaken in the district.
Mr.Tripathy chaired a high-level meeting in the District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) conference hall with the District Collector Somesh Kumar upadhyay, CEO WODC Ajit Kumar Mishra and other senior Officers of different heads of the district.
He asked the officials to resolve the grievances and problems of locals with close coordination with the State headquarters.
Mr.Tripathy went to Deogarh College & interacted with the students and the faculty members.
Addressing the students and teachers of the college, Mr.Tripathy said education today needs to be value and utility oriented. It must instill confidence and enterprising ability in the students, he said.
Deogarh district has high potential for different trades in agri-entrepreneurship & MSME sectors, he added.
The WODC Chairman called upon the students to tap the newly emerging opportunities which were not available earlier. Education being the biggest resource, entrepreneurship & skill development are the call of the day.
He also called upon the Principal & Faculty members to encourage the students to take up self-ventures rather than that of seeking just an employment somewhere.
During his visit to the District today, Mr.Tripathy also supervised the finishing works of under construction of 500-seater WODC Auditorium cum Sports Complex at Nua Taliroi hill top out of WODC Fund amounting to Rs 4.97crore. This was a long-felt need based project proposed by the District Administration, official sources said.
The project is being executed by the Road & Building Division of Deogarh. This project is likely to be completed in the next few days, which will be of immense help to the district for various social & cultural activities.
